Saturday 6 May 2017 10.30-11.30
New location: The Co-op Funeralcare, Manchester Road, Chorlton M21 9PN.
What's on the agenda?
The Chorlton, Whalley Range and Hulme Co-operative Local Forum (CLF) grew out of the Co-op Cluster - launched in 2014 as an experiment by local members. The Co-op has now decided to extend a similar model across the UK.
At this meeting:
- We'll work on ideas for an evening event and on connecting with local schools.
- We'll know more about plans for local organisation of members.
- We'll be getting ready for the AGM for the Co-op Group.
All our CLF meetings are short - just one hour - and business-like. We're interested in making things happen.
What is the CLF?
The CLF is for co-op members that use the co-op stores in Chorlton, Whalley Range and Hulme in south Manchester. You can see this "cluster" of stores on the map below.
We think that we can have a much more meaningful input into how the Co-op is run and how it fits into our community if we do it at a local level, involving people who use and work in the stores - and anyone else who is interested. Here on Springboard we've been arguing this for a while - click here to see our original post on how the Co-op needs to get closer to the communities where it operates and how thus must involve staff.
